Hello!
The past month has been one full of beauty on the road. Starting in Winfield, Kansas and winding through Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana and, finally, back home to Florida, just in time to prep for Hurricane Matthew. (We didn't have any damage.)
Imua camped at Carolina BalloonFest 2016
After the Hurricane had passed, I set to work on a project that has been just gestating for a long time; Milagro Canyon Jam Trax Vol. 1. This is a collection of backing tracks in 23 different keys that allow musicians to practice improvisation. Composing the tracks took a few days back at home and then I've been working on the included book during downtime at the 2016 Carolina BalloonFest in Statesville, NC. Hot-air balloons are flying overhead this morning as I put the finishing touches on the project and get it ready for digital distribution. Look for it here in the Digital Downloads section of this web site.
I'm performing twice today, once at 2 PM and once at 5:15 PM, after which point I will load up the motorhome, and will head up interstate 40 to Black Mountain where the Black Mountain Music Festival is currently getting underway. I'm looking forward to getting a LOT of footage for "Dulcimerica" while there. Loads of the best players in the world are all going to be in one place!
So, just a quick note to say hello to everybody. Thanks again for all of your support and encouragement this year, and I'll be back sooner than 30 days away, with another blog and some exciting new developments. Thanks for reading, have a great week!
