Livin' The Dream: An Ode to the Road
Livin’ The Dream
Music and lyrics by Bing Futch
from the album, The Beauty and the Terror
Well, I've done lots of travelin' all across the USA
from Irish pubs to country clubs and any place they'll let me play
there's more to this old life I live than Point A to Point B
because somewhere in the middle, I get along in my RV
We hit the trail a-runnin' where the rubber meets the road
and some folks may call this kind of life "extreme"
it's another highway holiday and I tote an easy load
between the cities, towns and all that's in between
I guess that you could say I'm livin' the dream
There ain't no moss a-gatherin' on this here rolling stone
from place to place, any parking space is good enough to call my home
I've seen the sun rise in the Smokies, then set a course for Myrtle Beach
so many destinations that are right within my reach
We hit the trail a-runnin' where the rubber meets the road
and some folks may call this kind of life "extreme"
it's another highway holiday and I tote an easy load
between the cities, towns and all that's in between
I guess that you could say I'm living the dream
Some folks need to get away, well I'm blessed
'cause I can do it every day, it just melts away the stress
to see a cool, clear river flow and then hit the road for the show
man, what a way to go
From Washington to Georgia and Texas to Michigan
got a kitchen, bath and bedroom powered by a Ford V-10
I've been a lot of places and some I've never seen
so I can't resist to make a bucket list for me and my machine
