Forward, Into The Light
I think I’ve recovered from a temporary bout of blogitis, and will be back with smaller posts on a more frequent basis. Normally, things slow down a bit when I get home from summer tour but it’s been full-stop crazy and I’m back on the road right now, after events in Denver, Statesville and Black Mountain, North Carolina, heading to Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Tullahoma, Tennessee and then on to Virginia. Ain’t no time like the present, because tomorrow is a gift, not a guarantee.
Happy Halloween, by the way! I’m at Dad’s Bluegrass Campground in Franklin, Kentucky and there just happens to be a Mexican restaurant called El Potrero across the field from my site. Seriously, sometimes I just look at the sky and smile. So, I’ll be having a Dia de los Muertos celebration tonight before the predicted clobbering rain begins to descend for the next 48 hours.
Downtime at the campground this week was really up time as I got caught up with administrative fun and jumped back into production with new Dulcimerica, Mailbag Monday and Disney Overload videos for Patreon. I also recorded three new tracks for The Improv Files October EP, finished lyrics on “Baby I Believe” and wrote new music for “Beachtown”. I even had huge swaths of time in which to just sit and run through tunes and, you know, practice. There’s always room for improvement, amirite?
I’ll have some crazy-cool booking news in the next edition of the blog, so until then, PROST!, Happy Halloween, Blessed Samhain, and unpleasant dreams, as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark would say.
